Bring your sports gear to Ramsgate for your favourite sports.

Ramsgate and its surrounding area can offer swimming, wind surfing, sailing, fishing, golf, athletics, the martial arts, hockey, rugby, basket ball, squash, horse riding ..... just to give you some idea. If you want to try or continue any sport the Social Club can arrange this for you. Dance classes are held at the School along with our popular Table Tennis  and Pool Tournaments. We normally play football twice a week. There are three tennis courts right in front of the School.

Dance

Dance classes are held monthly at the school.

Swimming

Modern heated swimming pools in Ramsgate, Margate and Canterbury.

Tennis

Directly in front of the school there are hard tennis courts which are very popular with our students and for which there is a nominal charge. Racquets and balls can be hired from the Social Club.

Golf

Two golf courses in the area.

Fishing

Very good sea-fishing, either off the beach or at sea, for which there are locally organised fishing trips.

Horseriding

2 stables in the Ramsgate area (maximum 10 km). Rides can be organised through the school after lessons and at weekends.

Football

Staff and students play regularly on Wednesdays and Sundays. 5-a-side tournaments are occasionally held during the year.

Ten pin bowling

2 Bowling Alleys at Margate (9 km).

Table tennis

Table tennis is available in the Paragon Building at least once a week.

 

Sports afternoon

We can help you to arrange sports activities for Wednesday afternoons.

Indoor sports

You can join various sport clubs in Thanet for Boxing, Karate, Judo, etc. Further information is available from the Social Club.

Fitness centres

There are a number of fitness centres in the area which students can join. Churchill House mostly uses Leisure Force (in Ramsgate Sports Centre) which our students can use at a special discount rate if they present their social club cards.

 

Squash

Squash Courts in Ramsgate and Margate.

Miniature Golf

There is a miniature golf course in Margate, just 15 minutes drive from the school.

 

Windsurfing

Local facilities for this exciting sport during the Spring and Summer.

Other clubs

Students have joined over 35 clubs in the area for various other activities such as Photography, Choir, Orchestra, Rock-climbing in Kent, Chess and many others. Ask in the Social Club for information when you arrive.
