In a class the teacher cannot give you their undivided attention, nor can the course be designed just for you. But One-to-One teaching is different - every English Home Tuition Course is unique, based on your individual needs and abilities.

From the information you give us before arrival, your Course Director and teacher work together to plan the course that is right for you and you alone. We select your course materials from a vast range of resources which we are continually updating. Our range of specialist materials contains work on topics as diverse as aeronautics, archaeology and flower arranging!

During your stay your Course Director is in regular communication with you and your teacher to monitor progress and offer help and advice when necessary. Before you leave, your teacher gives you advice on the best way to continue your studies and in addition you receive a Certificate of Achievement with details of your course and the level of English you have reached.

General English
This course is uniquely designed to meet your special needs and help you make the most rapid progress in English. The main aim of the course is to improve your fluency in speaking, although it can also cover grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading and writing. This is a highly practical course. You learn English in your lessons and immediately use it in a variety of social situations.

Professional English
This course gives you the necessary skills for effective oral and written communication in English in any professional situation. Specialist course materials help you practise English in business contexts such as making presentations, telephoning, handling facts and figures and attending conferences in any field including Marketing and Advertising, Finance and Accounting or Management and Planning. You also become familiar with the language and vocabulary needed to socialise with colleagues and business associates.

Specialist teachers with qualifications in law can design a course for law students and lawyers. This combines General English and English for Law. Lessons include dialogue and reading exercises, illustrating the most typical usages of legal English and different aspects of English law. Many courses include a visit to the law courts.

In addition, specialised courses deal with one particular area of expertise and the English required to practise it. Courses include Medical English, English for the Hotel and Catering Industry, English for Engineers.

English for Exams
Whether you are preparing for a Cambridge Exam such as First Certificate, CAE or Proficiency, or the IELTS, TOEFL ® test or TOEIC ® tests, this course will help you. Your specific needs will be identified and specialist exam material and past paper practice will help prepare you for the exam.

English Plus
Would you like a General English Course but also excursions, trips and / or activities with your teacher? You may be interested in sharing a hobby and connected activities with the teacher or you may just like your teacher to take you sightseeing. Simply add the English Plus supplement to your course and you will be guaranteed at least a full-day excursion and a half-day trip/activity or three half-day trips/activities (all costs included).

Junior Plus
Are you between 10 and 17 years old? You need a teacher who is happy to provide the extra care and welfare you require, who is happy to organise and accompany you in a stimulating social programme outside your lesson times. Parents can feel confident in the knowledge that we only select teachers who will take full responsibility for your child and provide the optimum learning environment for them. Lessons will be a combination of practical activities mostly focussing on listening and speaking together with written and spoken exercises to improve grammar and build vocabulary.

For 10 - 15-year-olds, simply add the Junior Plus supplement to the course. This guarantees a full-day excursion, a half-day trip/activity and a busy activity programme every afternoon. Activities could include swimming, 10-pin bowling, crazy golf, games, an afternoon on the beach and a variety of alternatives. All costs are included. Your child will only need pocket money for personal purchases and souvenirs.

For 16 and 17-year-olds, you can choose between a course with the English Plus supplement., giving you a leisure programme with a full-day excursion and a half-day trip/ activity, or three half-day trips/activities (all costs included) plus a few hours of free time in the afternoons, OR the Junior Plus supplement , which gives you the leisure programme with a full-day excursion, a half-day trip/activity and a busy activity programme every afternoon (all costs included).

Short Break
If you only have a short time to spare but would still like to take a course of between 2 and 4 days, the Short Break Course is the one for you. Tailored Courses
If you cannot find the course you require outlined above, please contact us and we can discuss your needs and the possibility of designing a course for you. For instance, if you are a parent and would like to bring your child with you (minimum age 7 years), either to have lessons as well or accommodation only, we can arrange this for you. If you would like more excursions than the Plus packages outlined above, contact us and we can design a leisure programme to your specifications.

Two-to-One
If you would like to come with a friend, relative or colleague of a similar level and similar interests to share lessons with you, we can offer you a Two to One course. Choose your course as before and complete an application form each, letting us know that you would like to study together. It is also possible to arrange programmes for families who want to study and experience British family life together.

Premium Accommodation
If you would like to have a higher standard of accommodation and the privacy of your own bathroom in one of our Premium accommodation families, simply add the Premium supplement to your chosen course.

Christmas/New Year in England
If you would like to experience a British Christmas and/or New Year, simply add the Christmas / New Year supplement to your chosen course.
