Learning through Leisure
For a really enjoyable time combine language learning with your hobby. We match your interests with those of a teacher sharing that interest (from acting or aerobics to wind-surfing or yoga). You can choose how much of your lesson time you want to spend learning academically and how much you want to spend talking about or participating in your leisure activity. A formal approach does not suit everyone and you may prefer to learn whilst playing golf with your teacher or being shown how to cook 'the British way'. But please remember, although your teacher is an expert at teaching English they may not necessarily be an expert in their hobby!

One of the attractions of an English Home Tuition Course is the chance to pursue one of your hobbies or experience British cultural life with your teacher as guide. You can decide if you want to go to the theatre or museum with your teacher or explore the delights of your location by yourself.

  • For their second course Anny and Marie wanted to bring their grand-daughter and live somewhere rich in history. During their stay in Canterbury they saw Prince Charles and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
  • Manuel wanted to climb Mount Snowdon in Wales. We found him a teacher so near the mountain he could have climbed it every day!
  • Sofia loved the books of Charles Dickens. With EHTC she spent a week near the house where the author wrote 'David Copperfield'.
  • Toru and Chikako Sato and their children wanted a short break near Heathrow with riding and fishing. We found them the teacher, but they never went fishing - they enjoyed speaking to their family too much!
