Pitmans Institute Examinations in English Pitmans Examinations in English are universally recognised. They are held at 5 levels:
and test reading, writing and listening skills. Successful candidates are awarded the Pitmans Examination Institute Certificate in English. Churchill House has an outstanding record of success in Pitmans Examinations; in recent years three of our students have been awarded prizes at The Houses of Parliament for achieving an exceptionally high standard in the Advanced Examinations. Churchill House is a local centre for the Pitmans Institute which means you can take the examinations at the School. Examinations at all levels are USUALLY held at the School on the following dates:
19 Jan 2000 Students can also take the ESOL test (English for Speakers of Other Languages). The aim of the ESOL tests, which parallels the written tests, is to provide a range of tests in spoken English. These examinations test the kind of English which learners need to use in everyday life. As with the written tests, the focus is on authentic use of the language. You are able to enter and take Pitmans Examinations within one month. The examinations are held in the third week of most 4 week Course Modules so that a continuous incentive is given to your studies. Please note that the last date for entering an examination is one week before the date of the examination. Entry is ONLY by personal interview with the Local Secretary, and CANNOT be made by post or e-mail.
