University of Cambridge examinations University of Cambridge examinations are recognised worldwide in international institutions, companies and professional bodies as the most accepted qualification in English. Churchill House runs courses for Cambridge examinations at three different levels:
The examinations are held twice a year in June and December. All three examinations test your skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking, and your knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary. There are 5 papers in each exam and certificates are awarded to successful candidates in three grades A, B and C. Certificates are not issued to students awarded the failing grades D and E. Our University of Cambridge Examination Courses Our excellent results prove the success of our methods. Courses are carefully designed including placement tests, mock examinations and self-access programmes which take place in our Individual Learning Centre. There is an Entrance Test for each course and only students who have passed this test are permitted to join the course. Our University of Cambridge Courses are for the serious student who is committed to studying English. Your teacher will expect you to work hard and you will receive a substantial amount of homework every day to ensure maximum progress. Cambridge courses are run independently of other courses which means you are studying only with students who are taking the same examination as yourself. The only exception to this is the Lead Up courses, which are explained in full detail below, where you follow a normal Main Course in the mornings. We cannot guarantee that you will pass but you can see that we do everything possible to help you. |
In the last 12 years 90% of our students who have taken the First Certificate examination have passed. |
