Cambridge Examinations

The University of Cambridge Examinations are recognised worldwide and can be sat at Churchill House here in Ramsgate.

Cambridge First Certificate (FCE).

The most popular Cambridge Examination, tests English at an Upper Intermediate level. The examinations are held three times a year in March, June and December. Churchill House runs a 10 or 12-week course starting in January then 11 or 12-week courses starting in April and October. We also offer a 13-week First Certificate Preparation Course during the summer for those who require the intense exam preparation we can offer, but who wish to take the exam in their own country, or at a later date.

Cambridge Advanced (CAE)

For students whose level is between First Certificate and Proficiency, this examination takes place three times a year in March, June and December. Churchill House offers 10 or 12- week intensive courses starting in January, March and October.

Cambridge Proficiency (CPE)

This is the highest level, non-specialist Cambridge examination and is held twice a year in June and December.

Churchill House offers 15 or 16-week courses starting in March and August.

Cambridge Lead-Up Courses

For students who need more tuition before attempting the actual examination course we can offer Lead-Up Courses for both FCE and CAE exams as part of our Elective Course system. These courses will help to raise your ability to the level needed for the actual exam course. Starting dates twice a year, in March and September.
