The Churchill Tavern is a pub in the Paragon Building that is owned by the school. It is probably the most student-friendly pub in the whole of Ramsgate and is a great place to have lunch or dinner as well as socialise with a coffee or a pint of beer. Students over 16 years of age are allowed to enter the pub for soft drinks and food but the serving of alcohol is strictly for students over 18 only. The tavern itself is like a country pub in the heart of Ramsgate town and is a great place to meet up with friends and locals alike.
Coffees & Snacks
The tavern opens at noon each day and is a great place for students to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or some tasty bar snacks. A range of coffees are available from the fully trained bar staff and the snack menu is freshly prepared each day by the tavern’s head chef.
The restaurant is open for lunch from 12:00 to 14:30 during the week, serving a large range meals. From the £5 lunch deals through to the full menu, there is a range of prices and choices to suit all students looking for great food without having to go too far.
Food is also served during the evenings from Monday to Saturday for any students in the area. There is also an excellent breakfast club on Saturdays from 10:00 – 15:00. The tavern’s famous roast lunch, an English tradition not to be missed, is available every Sunday between 12:00 – 16:00.
The Churchill Tavern is famous for its live music. From rock to blues to folk, there is always a different band to see. On these nights there is a great buzz to the pub and we would recommend that students go in to see what all the fuss is about.
Other events at the Churchill Tavern include quiz nights, live sporting events, pool and darts nights, art exhibitions and themed parties. Although we offer a full programme of student-only evening activities downstairs in the Clubroom, we would also recommend that students sample some of the local nightlife in the tavern too in order to experience one of the most important parts of English culture – the local pub.
