Centre Managers

Churchill House Centre Managers are responsible for the smooth running of all aspects of the centre and are able to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities in the demanding, yet highly rewarding environment of a residential summer school.  Team building, diplomacy, effective implementation of procedures are all central to the position of centre manager, but above all Centre Managers must have boundless energy and a sense of humour.

Head Office

Throughout the summer Centre Managers are supported by a team from head office led by the Summer Centres Director to ensure that the resources required are available to implement the high standards of customer care that Churchill House clients expect.

Hours of Work

Centre Managers work six days out of seven. The nature of the job requires Churchill House Centre Managers to be flexible and willing to address situations whenever they arise.

Training

It is a prerequisite of the position that all Centre Managers attend the Management training Weekend starting on Friday 27th June.  (Accommodation will be paid for and reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed). 

Duties

The Centre Manager is responsible to the Summer Centres Director and ensures the smooth running of the centre and takes overall responsibility for:

  • The safety and welfare of all students and staff
  • The academic programme
  • The activity programme
  • Student behaviour
  • Induction of centre staff
  • Weekly administrative paper work  submitted to Head office
  • Overseeing the implementation of transfers
  • Keeping accurate data of student occupancy
  • Keeping accurate records of expenditure
  • Developing a good working relationship with the school/college
  • Organising the staff rota
  • Ensuring that students and staff are accommodated in an appropriate place
  • Establishing effective communication between the centre, the clients and head office

Salary

£600-£725 p/w

Plus holiday pay

Dependent on experience, size of school and length of contract
