Royal Russell School is a traditional English boarding school set in acres of woodland in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Her Majesty the Queen is the patron of the school and she has visited the school on a number of occasions. It is situated in an ‘oasis’ of green and yet is only minutes from central Croydon with very easy access to central London and its world famous sites. With spacious playing fields and a university style campus atmosphere the school provides a wonderful environment for a summer vacation English language course.

ACCOMMODATION

Royal Russell has 4 accommodation blocks separated into girls and boys houses. Some rooms have en-suite facilities although most use shared bathroom facilities. All rooms are modern and furnished as study bedrooms. We encourage students to mix with other nationalities in shared rooms and for younger students coming alone the multi-bedded room is the best way to make friends and have fun. Children are supervised in the accommodation blocks and there is a ‘houseperson’ on duty at all times to look after student welfare.

FOOD

All meals are provided by the school in the spacious and characteristic dining hall. There is a wide variety on offer on the menu from traditional ‘fish & chips’ to pasta. The food is fresh and tasty and there is a wonderful salad bar too. We can cater for all dietary needs, including vegetarian and halal.

THE LOCATION

Croydon has a range of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities and provides very easy access to London, by rail or bus, as well as the 2 major London airports – Gatwick (30 minutes) and Heathrow (60 minutes)
