Things To Do In and Around Ramsgate
Ramsgate is located on the South East Coast of England, in the county of Kent known as ‘the Garden of England.
This picturesque seaside town is most famous for the Royal Harbour and golden sandy beaches. It has a rich history dating back to the pre-Roman times and used to be an important port town. There are plenty of places to sit, relax and study around the yachting marina, which is lined with cafés, modern bars and restaurants.
Ramsgate has great transport links to the surrounding areas. Should you want to experience city life, Canterbury is just 30 minutes away by train or car and offers a great deal of history, culture and things to see and do. London is only 76 minutes away by train so you can easily see the famous landmarks, walk around the museums and enjoy all that London has to offer. Ramsgate is also perfectly located to explore England and the rest of Europe. With a quick trip to Ashford or Dover (35 minutes away) you can easily travel to the rest of Europe by Eurotunnel or ferry.

The Music Hall is Ramsgate’s main music venue, featuring gigs from local and touring bands of all types.
A festival of folk music that takes over the small town every year. This year it is scheduled for 9-16 August. There are lots of folk music performances in the Broadstairs pubs and along the sea front, and it’s free!

Thanet is served by a regular bus service. The main bus route is called the Loop, and runs a circular route between Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate.

Thanet is also served by Southeastern Rail. You can take a train to Broadstairs or Margate, or further afield to Canterbury or London.
