Things To Do In and Around Ramsgate

Ramsgate is located on the South East Coast of England, in the county of Kent known as ‘the Garden of England.

This picturesque seaside town is most famous for the Royal Harbour and golden sandy beaches. It has a rich history dating back to the pre-Roman times and used to be an important port town. There are plenty of places to sit, relax and study around the yachting marina, which is lined with cafés, modern bars and restaurants.

Ramsgate has great transport links to the surrounding areas. Should you want to experience city life, Canterbury is just 30 minutes away by train or car and offers a great deal of history, culture and things to see and do. London is only 76 minutes away by train so you can easily see the famous landmarks, walk around the museums and enjoy all that London has to offer. Ramsgate is also perfectly located to explore England and the rest of Europe. With a quick trip to Ashford or Dover (35 minutes away) you can easily travel to the rest of Europe by Eurotunnel or ferry.

I enjoy Ramsgate as it’s a small town with a holiday atmosphere and I will miss the peace and quiet. I’ve made lots of friends from all over the world but best of all is the friendship with my host family. They have made me very welcome in their home and helped me understand the culture here.
